FAQs

Q: Do you have any availability for my child?

A: We are currently running a waiting list for new swimmers. If you would like your child to be added to the waiting list, please fill out the online form  to be automatically added.

Q: When are the lessons?

A: We run lessons after school from 3:45pm-7pm Monday-Friday, and from 8:30am-1pm on Saturdays

Q:How much are the lessons?

A: Currently, lessons are £34* a month payable by a monthly standing order

Q: Do parents have to get in?

A:No! Our teachers do all of the work, and teach lessons from inside the pool (barring deep-end and lengths classes). We have chairs on the poolside for grown-ups to sit back and watch.

Q: Are you open over the school holidays?

A:Yes! The only holiday period that we close over is at Christmas (2 weeks). Just a reminder that all of our standing order prices are calculated to be inclusive of this annual Christmas  closure.

Q:Are you open over bank holidays?

A: On bank holidays we are closed. Our standing order prices for Mondays and Fridays differ to other days as they are pre-calculated to be inclusive of the bank holiday Mondays and Good Friday.

Q: Is there any update on the waiting list?

A: Please be assured that we are trying our absolute best to fill spaces. Just a reminder that we are only available to offer spaces to those on the waiting list when they become available. We unfortunately cannot offer a prediction on how long this may take. We will be in contact as soon as your child(ren) is/are at the top.

If you are already down on the waiting list and haven’t yet heard back from us, please be assured that we haven’t forgotten about you.

Thank you for your patience and understanding :)

Q: How big are the classes?

A: Most of our classes are capped at 6 children to one adult in order to keep class sizes small. The only classes that are slightly bigger are the more advanced groups in which the teacher is able to teach from the side of the pool. Some beginner/intermediate classes may have more than 6 children in where a teaching assistant is available to work alongside a teacher.

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Just a swimming costume and towel for your child! We provide all the necessary equipment ourselves. We do recommend not bringing goggles for children who are starting out, as it is key for them to get used to getting water in their eyes!

Q: Where are you based?

We are based within Reddish Vale School, SK5 7HD. We are located just through the Sports for All centre, up the path to the right of the top car park. The door to the swimming pool is at the very top of the corridor that runs to the right of the building, past the ball courts and up the steps. There are normally plenty of people around who are happy to help should you need directing!
